David is a highly experienced solicitor who has practised for most of his career in the West End, mostly advising and acting for individuals in the fields of private client, family law and other litigation.
For many years, David has dealt with probate matters, advising executors, dealing with valuation issues on substantial estates, dealing with the Inland Revenue, applying for grants of probate and winding up estates. In recent years, David has handled cases involving conflicts between executors and beneficiaries, often in the same family. He has acted as an interim executor in a case where the executors could not agree on how to act, in order to sell an estate’s property, redeem its charge and pay some of the estate’s debts. He is very experienced at dealing with sensitive and delicate situations amongst family members.
David also advises in cases affecting vulnerable persons, making applications to the Court of Protection and preparing Lasting powers of Attorney and registering at the office of the Public Guardian. Since 2002 he has acted as a Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection.
Since joining Altermans in 2016, David has also consulted on family law disputes and civil and commercial disputes.
