Altermans Solictors has been advising freeholders on lease extensions since 2002, and its founding partner, Gabriel Alterman, has been doing so since 1998.
When negotiating a lease extension, disputes can arise in a number of areas:
- the valuation of the new lease has huge potential for disagreement, especially in Prime Central London;
- the validity of a request may be challenged on a number of grounds, including length of ownership;
- deadlines and timescales are very strict, and problems can arise when they have not been adhered to correctly; and
- there may be disagreement over the terms of the new lease.
If agreement cannot be reached, then a leasehold dispute will initially be heard in the First-tier Tribunal, then the Upper Tribunal and then in the Court of Appeal. A dispute over validity will be heard in the County Court.
The Altermans litigation team has handled leasehold disputes at all levels and we have close working relationships with expert valuers and barristers who can represent your best interests.
We have a team of solicitors dedicated to handling lease extensions, with over 40 years of experience between them, supervised by a partner.
Whatever the nature of your leasehold dispute, we will take all the necessary steps to protect your interests at all times.
